Today, there is a horrible epidemic in our great country. It destroys happy families, ravages unsuspecting women, murders small children, and encourages bad haircuts. That epidemic, my friends, is called ELECTROCLASH.
This movement (I promise not to utter the name once more), began in the late 90's at avant-clubs in New York and Berlin and helped ignite the 80's revival trend of 2000 and 2001. Electro was indulgent, ridiculous, but decidedly cool at the time. Four years later, not so much. Commerciality and lameness have corrupted electro. Electro acts have been exposed as the no-talent art-school dropouts that they are. Not to mention how out of sync themes of hard drugs and cold sex are in society today. The bubble has burst and the party is over.
Sadly, there are individuals in these incredible 50 states that still insist upon listening to electro. Even in places like New York. They primarily shop at Urban Outfitters and wear fucked-up razored mullets along with lame tattoos. To them, I say, FUCK YOU and wish them a speedy recovery.
What's even sadder is that there are so-called music snobs in the Midwest who are probably just now discovering Miss Kittin. They are trying to act elite in front of their lame friends by suggesting the cool beats of "Stock Exchange" while everyone just wants Counting Crows. How pathetic.
If you dropped electro back in 2002 or even mid-2003, like every sensible person, then this does not apply to you. For everyone else, get a life before I beat your face in. If you're just NOW getting into electro, you seriously need to kill yourself. Good god.
